A Sales Career Is A Great Career

We are indeed quite fortunate to have a career in professional sales. It’s important to remember this even during difficult economic times. Many years ago, I decided to get into sales and I never looked back at that career decision.

Think about it. We don’t design, assemble or manufacture the product. We don’t fix it, deliver it or bill for it. Despite all that, thanks to commissions, when we close a sale we earn more money than those in other departments. I say that’s a great deal!

Aside from commissions, look at all those other perks we get to enjoy. Those in other departments don’t get car allowances or reimbursed for entertainment expenses. Never underestimate the importance of paid vacations, 401Ks, stock options and medical insurance. Live is good when you are a top selling sales rep!

We also enjoy upward career mobility. Did you know that most CEOs started in the Sales Department? We also enjoy the freedom of scheduling our days as we see fit. I can’t think of a better way to earn a living. That’s the power we gain from the solid sales skills learned in great selling training.

“Selling” is also important work. We bring in revenue, the lifeblood of every corporation. We also solve problems for the people and companies in our territories. We save our clients money or make them more productive, or both. Yes, “selling” is important work.

I hope you’ll remember these points everyday as you operate in the field. We enjoy a professional sales career that extends many benefits to us, and to our families.

Give thanks for your professional sales career.
