Succeed In Sales With Sales Training Focused On A Bad Economy

Like you, I didn’t ask for this bad economy, it found me. Today, most visitors to my site from around the world are looking for sales training focused on selling in a poor economy. So, I locked myself up for four months and gave it a lot of thought.

It was time well spent.

I started by asking myself if it was even possible to thrive in sales during a very slow economy. Why spend time developing a sales training program that could not succeed? The good news is that I have no doubt you can succeed in sales during a troubled economy. First, you have to believe it, then you have to find out how to implement the strategy. The answer is revealed in sales training for a slow economy.

I’m not one of those people that ask for “belief” by ignoring the facts and just moving forward on faith and hope. There is very little room for the word “hope” in business so I’m not using that word in any sales training program with my name on it. So, let’s look at the facts.

Funds may be in short supply but they have not disappeared. Also, the problems we solve with our products and services still exist and in this economy, those problems are growing. Yes, with the right professional sales training, you can succeed in sales during a troubled economy.

We use many words to describe this economy but one jumped out at me and is the foundation of my sales training for a bad economy. That word is, “Uncertain”. We have an “uncertain economy”, “Uncertain economic times”. That very powerful word paralyzes purchasing decisions and when that happens, nothing happens.

Sales Training For A Bad Economy

My sales training approach to selling in an uncertain economy begins with the understanding that “uncertainty” is the new competition. The only way to compete in this economy is to replace “uncertainty” with “absolute certainty”. I deliver this message in my new keynote speech for National Sales meetings.

My sales training program for a difficult economy focuses on developing “absolute certainty” in every sales opportunity. How? Well, here are just a few ways to overcome the uncertainty your prospect is feeling during this troubled economic period,

  • Increased use of client testimonials
  • Focus on ROI and cost justification models
  • Increasing the use of solid references

This list can go on and on but for the sake of this post, I’m sure you see my point about generating “Absolute Certainty”.

You also need to bring your “A Game” to every sales appointment. In this economy, you can’t afford to get sloppy or look for shortcuts. You must master the sales process and if you’re not there yet, get some solid sales training on the subject.

Use these sales strategies in a bad economy and I know you will increase your sales productivity. After all, that’s the only reason I’ve developed a sales training program for a difficult economy.

To your sales success!
