How To Find A Job You Will Enjoy

Life must be miserable for people working at something they don’t enjoy. I don’t know how they get themselves out of bed just to do something void of pleasure. I do know one thing. You can’t succeed at a job unless you enjoy doing it. Learn more in this article on how to find a job you will enjoy.

Today is my birthday and I don’t have to work. So why am I writing this post? It’s early in the morning and I’m writing because I enjoy it. I had three careers in my life and I enjoyed all of them. Here is some advice on how to find a job you will enjoy.

I entered college as a Biology Major seeking a Bachelor of Science Degree. I enjoyed Biology but not all those other subjects, like Organic Chemistry and Calculus that were required for a BS degree. So, I switched to another Major, History, and graduated with a BA degree. So, what kinds of career options are open to a History Major?

Although they are fine professions, I had no interest in becoming a History teacher or an Historian. In order to find a job you will enjoy, you first have to identify what you enjoy doing.

I knew I wanted freedom and not a life in a cubicle. I knew I wanted to get paid based on my productivity instead of a salary. I decided to start a career in sales and never looked back. I was lucky to find a job I enjoyed.

A Job You Will Enjoy Changes Everything

My sales successes quickly lead to my second career as a manager. I guess you could say the job I enjoyed found me. As a sales management executive, I was still out in the field and involved in the act of selling. However, I was also involved in something I enjoyed just as much as closing deals. I could now help other salespeople and show them how to succeed. I really enjoyed that work. I found a job I enjoy!

Thankfully, I also enjoy the sales training work I do today. It keeps around salespeople and of course, I still sell my own services. It also allows me to continue with my enjoyment of helping salespeople and showing them how to succeed in sales.

I hope you now understand why I’m working on my Birthday. I enjoy my work. I’m also going to enjoy my afternoon at the Del Mar Racetrack. Let’s hope I get lucky on my Birthday.

My Birthday wish, I hope everyone finds a job they will enjoy.

If not, what’s your plan to improve sales?
