I get it! You need more sales and you are not sure what to do about it. You are in good company. Many, especially in this economy, need more sales and they are lost as to what to do next. I have some advice that will help those that need more sales.

Find A Problem You Can Solve

Although this point is basic sales stuff, it is often overlooked. No one buys a product because they have nothing better to do than buy a product. People buy products they need. If you need more sales, first find a need for your product. You need to do this every time you meet with a prospect. Find a problem you can solve with your product or service and then present your product as the solution.

If You Need More Sales Sell The Clean Rug

Stop selling a vacuum cleaner to someone looking for a clean rug! Instead, sell the clean rug. I’m glad your product has a ton of great features but your job is to translate those features into benefits for your customer. Remember to sell the clean rug and not the vacuum when you need more sales.

When You Need More Sales Sell The Fear Of Loss Sells

Here is a powerful strategy for those that need more sales. People are more motivated by loss than gain. Our first instinct is to preserve what we already have. So, change “I can save you money” to “Stop loosing money”. You must not only sell benefits but you must also sell the negative side of not having those benefits. This is key for those that need more sales.

What Not To Do When You Need More Sales

You are surely working as hard as you can right now so forget working harder as a strategy when you need more sales. What good is working harder at things that aren’t working in the first place? The key is working smarter. You probably know this but what are you doing about it?

What To Do When You Need More Sales

When you need more sales you need to get serious. As you saw in the above, a word here and there can make a big difference. So, what are you doing to improve your sales techniques? How serious are you about improving your selling skills? If you need more sales and you are serious about fixing it, get serious about sales training.
