Sales Advice Is Not Always Good Advice
In today’s world everyone is a guru or expert and this holds very true in the world of sales training. I guess that’s why there are so many people offering sales advice but how much of that sales advice has any value and can truly drive sales success?
Complicated Sales Advice
Some sales advice turns something very simple into something extremely complicated. This always happens when “the expert” goes overboard with diagrams, graphs and charts. I guess they feel they can charge more for their sales advice if they make it look complicated. This tactic holds no value for the student trying to learn something.
Simple Sales Advice
I like straightforward sales advice that works. As an example, I’ve included this sales advice video about getting to the decision maker when prospecting. It’s simple and effective.

FREE SALES ADVICE
Our site offers a ton of free sales advice and there’s no shortage of reps looking for “free” sales advice. I get a kick out of reps looking for free advice on how to sell at a higher price. They want free advice from me but they want to charge more for their services. What’s wrong with that picture?
Our free sales advice can be found in our sales articles and Sales Blog. In fact, we offer over three hundred free sales tips on our site.
Sales Advice Worth The Price
I understand the caution reps have over paying for sales advice. At times, there is nothing new about the material. Other times, the advice is, I hate to say it, junk. That’s why, when someone pays me for sales advice, I guarantee their satisfaction.
I saw one fellow marketing a video on how to sell at a higher price. In his ad copy, he mentions that he reduced the price of the video. Why didn’t he use his own strategies and sell the video at the higher price? You have to wonder about that kind of sales advice.
Selling requires skills and the way to get those skills is through sales training. The best skilled reps will always earn more and enjoy successful careers. For those reasons, I applaud reps looking for sales advice, free or not. Developing skills should be a career long ambition and I just gave you a great piece of sales advice.
To your sales success!
