I Don’t Feel Like Working Today
I woke up early today because my bed started shaking. The culprit was a 4.4 Magnitude earthquake offshore Baja Mexico. You get accustomed to these things when you live in Southern California. I could not go back to sleep and was happy to learn that there was no damage because the quake was centered in the ocean… twenty miles away from me.
As the sun came up I was disappointed to see another in a string of overcast days. I know I sound spoiled but you never get accustomed to overcast days in San Diego. Waking up early to an overcast Monday took some of the motivation out of me. So, how do you get motivated when you don’t feel like working?
Follow Your Routine When You Don’t Feel Like Working
I always start my day by checking my overnight orders. I get about half of my sales from overseas and insure every order if promptly shipped. I stayed with my routine and began my day with the order log of my sales training DVDs and CDs. Knowing I’m helping reps to succeed in sales motivates me. When you don’t feel like working, stick to your routine.
I also enjoy doing my writing in the morning. Although I don’t feel like working, I stayed with my routine. If I didn’t, this article would not exist.
Advice For When You Don’t Feel Like Working
After visiting me yesterday, a friend left their cell phone charge behind in my kitchen. I may not feel like working but I decided to do something good for a friend. I told my friend I’d stop by his office and deliver the forgotten charger. When you don’t feel like working, get motivate by doing something good for someone.
I don’t feel like working but every day is truly a gift. So, I also decided to also do something good for myself. It may be overcast but I’m going for a long brisk walk on the beach today. When you don’t feel like working, do something good for yourself. I don’t consider my walk to be working but the exercise will get me motivated. I can sure use the exercise and the resulting motivation is a great bonus.
Sales Reps That Don’t Feel Like Working
Working as a salesperson is different than most occupations. Work doesn’t come to us on an assembly line. Instead, we manufacture our own work by prospecting for appointments.
