How To Sell Over The Phone

Selling over the phone requires special skills. There should be no doubt that successfully selling over the phone involves mastering the sales process.

At the center of every professional sales effort, you’ll find the sales process. You may be involved in a “face to face” sale or you may be selling over the phone. Either way, you’ll be using the sales process to close the opportunity. The only difference between selling over the phone and selling in person is the amount of time you have to fully execute the sales process. In this article, I want to focus on selling over the phone and the sales process.

The sales process consists of a number of well-defined steps that transforms prospects into clients.

Successfully selling over the phone demands that you quickly deliver an overwhelming reason for the prospect to listen to your sales message. In a split second, your prospect must understand how they will benefit from your product or service. Selling over the phone is all about efficiently and effectively delivering a message that is focused on benefits. In addition, the message must follow the sales process format.

Selling is selling and it doesn’t matter if you are selling in person or selling over the phone. The key to successfully selling anything is the sales process. If you have yet to master the sales process, you’ll never succeed in sales.

Often, selling over the phone requires the telemarketing rep to follow a telemarketing script. When you take the time to fully examine the telemarketing script, you’ll find the sales process.

The strategy to successfully selling over the phone involves adherence to every step in the sales process. Only when you master the sales process will you be in position to successfully sell over the phone. Before you can master the sales process, you have to learn the sales process. After that, mastering involves practice and more practice. Before you know it… you’re selling over the phone like a top pro!

Hey Nick, one thing I do is use a mirror. I want the “right image” that I reflect in the mirror will reflet how they percieved image. In my case, with a face like this, better to conduct business on the Phone LOL
