How to train a sales team? Many sales managers shy away from that question. Why? They think being a sales trainer is yet another sales manager’s hat. They are so wrong!!!
A sales manager’s leading responsibility is to provide his/her sales team with the tools required to succeed. Once that’s understood, we begin the journey to train a sales team.
My objective is to train a sales team on sales skills that they can use to generate commissions and profits for their employer. I’m not here to tell you how to train a sales team on policy or procedures. I’m also not going to tell you how to train a sales team on product knowledge. This is an article on how to train a sales team on sales skills. Too many sales organizations consider all that other stuff sales training and I’m here to tell you that those organizations simply don’t know how to train the sales team about sales skills.
When you train a sales team on professional salesmanship, you put sales skills at the center of that team’s culture… where sales skills belong. My goal is to make it easy for you to train a sales team and put those sales skills where they belong.
