Sales has its ups and downs. So, what to do when sales are down? Let me give you some advice that should help you when sales are down.

When sales are down, stay calm and don’t panic. Only clear thinkers get through slow selling periods. When sales are down, the last thing you need is a brain freeze!

Is the sales process you use to turn prospects into clients failing? Did you start using shortcuts? The first thing you should do when sales are down is to closely monitor your sales process. When you get away from a sales process that once worked, expect sales to go down!

Has anything changed to cause sales to be down? What’s your competition doing differently? Look at pricing structures and perceived competitive advantages. When sales are down you must first become a detective!

When sales are down get back to basics. Get your hands on some powerful sales training. Pick up a solid sales training DVD and start using sales techniques that work. These sales training programs are not expensive and could be exactly what the doctor ordered. Besides, if the old ways aren’t working, try a few new ways… especially when sales are down.

Here is some more advice about what to do when sales are down. Stay motivated! I know this is easier said than done especially when the economy is down however, please consider this advice. Never let a recession put you in a depression!  When sales are down, keep your chin up!
