In this article, I’m going to further explain the dynamics involved in overcoming the price objection so you’ll never fear it again.
How To Overcome The Price Objection
The price objection comes primarily in two forms. In the first case, your price is more than your prospect is willing to spend. In the second case, your competition has a similar product at a lower price. In either case, you must successfully overcome the price objection if you expect to close the sale.
So, how do you handle the price objection when your price is more than your prospect is willing to pay? In this situation, your prospect has failed to see the benefits of your offering or feels the price is not justified. It could also be that your prospect just wants to insure you are giving them your lowest price. Either way, your job is to overcome the price objection when your price is more than your prospect is willing to pay.
This “communication’s strategy” also works to overcome the price objection when your competition has a similar product at a lower price. In this situation, you overcome the price objection by presenting your product’s “added value”. You must explain how that added value justifies the higher price. That’s how to overcome the price objection.
There is no “trick” to overcoming sales objection, even those objections based on price. I don’t believe in tricks and tricks have no place in professional salesmanship. However, there is a “communication’s strategy” that can help you overcome the price objection when your price is higher than what your prospect is willing to pay.
